Myositis

Myositis, also known as idiopathic inflammatory myopathy, is a heterogeneous autoimmune disorder characterized by chronic inflammation of the musculoskeletal system and subsequent muscle weakness. The skin, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, joints, and heart are commonly affected (Lundberg IE et al. (2018)). Symptoms include general fatigue, swelling, and muscle pain. There is a large overlap in symptoms with systemic sclerosis (Ashton C et al. (2021)).

Differential abundance and machine learning analysis

This section presents the disease-specific results of the differential abundance and machine learning analyses. The analyses are reported for three comparisons: 1) disease vs. all other diseases, 2) disease vs. diseases from the same class, and 3) disease vs. healthy samples.
